Here's a set of stainless wires for an Avion. No longer made. Not possible to buy them.

Inspired by Joolz's steering rod end modification I have gone and made my own... I just hope it works as well!

I ordered the Rose Joint from a mob in India, price was cheap but shipping was excessive!

The original plan was to machine the ball off the end of the arm and cut a thread into the top, then use a reducer to bring it up from m8 (?) to m14... But instead I cut them off and welded a high tensile bolt on the end...

I realise that the profile may be to high and foul against the inside of the wheel but I can reduce the bolt and nut height if required or even lower the the rose joint on the shaft...

I remember some saying that Joolz's idea will inspire a a lot of bad imitations, so here is mine!

Fire away ;)

Pete,
but did those modifications involve welding any high strength bolts?

Arms milled to reduce the rear boss by 8mm - note that the root of the steering arm itself is has not been machined, paint wasn't even damaged as the arm was held on the key during machining. Took maybe 5 minutes per side. There is now over than 12mm thread engagement - 20% more than the original 10mm.

Given that the bolt is now m14 where as the narrowest point on the original arm is 7mm or less AND that I laid enough weld to prevent the continental shift of Africa, I should hopefullyprobablypossiblymaybe be in the clear... :|

Nice link Ken, keep them coming.
