   |   Re: headlights fault!?H, removing the resistor is only part of disabling the dim-dip system. You also need to unplug the connector blocks from both relays near the battery, then fit a bridging/jumper lead on the connector block which has 5 wires. < http://www.flickr.com/photos/30132857@N06/4375894118/ > You need a short length of wire and 2 male spade terminals for a permanent job. ken._________________

   |   Re: headlights fault!?H, no, because the dim-dip arrangement overloads the light switch and causes it to fail... I've heard reports that some folk have used relays to switch the headlamp feed, but that's a different story. ken hjbharry wrote: so do i throw away the 2 relays aswell?

   |   Re: headlights fault!?DONE! Dodgy connection in the relay multiplug - i unpluged the relays and swapped them round and it all worked swapped them back and still worked so i've cleaned the connections and put it all back together, also re-connected the dim dip resistor and its all good. thanks for your assistance ken and paul _________________

Sean edit:- much easier to look at kens photo

   |   Re: headlights fault!?dont mean to hijack your thread Harry, but this is something thats been puzzling me for a while, the relays dim/dip etc, Lily never had anything, no relays, no dim/dip, but the new one has relays, but no dim/dip, but my headlights work fine as they should, so i dont really want to start playing around with something that works fine? _________________

The lead may have a large aly resistor (small can.. bigger than a AA battery but smaller than a C) if not there will be a square rubber boot and a 3 way plug in it its often tied up amongst the lamp bar. it works without the resistor, but best to do the jumper dodge to make it all work fine sean_________________
