Post Re: Coil
I think this is another shitty black coil... The problem is black coils are not made anymore to the specs they were made 40 years ago. (as many other 2cv parts).. Theres more environment friendly oil oil going in aso. making the coil worse..

My opinion is take a yellow Harley from Ecas and youre done....

I can adjust dwell with my ignition and when you give to long current to a newer black coil as 123 or bad capacitors do they will blow up...... (I did a test with 5 coils which were blewn up by another ignition system, taking the dwell (loading time) back made them run trouble-free on my ignition............

There was a whole discusion going on abpout coils at the Dutch 2cv forum about this too...

itll probably have "Ducellier" on the other end

Ecas do a standard with resin fill instead of the oil and brown paper i hav'nt used one yet
and there is http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Drag-Speci...item5d498503fchttp://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Drag-Speci...item5d498503fc which works well at a similar price, similar output to the yellow ones.

works with all ignition systems including the evo 123 and the DGnition despite some questions recently

Geo had a look at your link but its all Dutch* to me

*In uk when something is thought to be difficult to understand, small print on insurance forms etc , we say "its all Dutch" or "Double Dutch"...you understand the words but the meaning is lost

What's the Ohm rating for a 2CV coil? I'm sure I read it's about 3ohms, but that last posting of mine is one that runs on 4.5ohms. Is that too high? If so, what'll be the consequence? :?

Post Re: Coil
3.7 ohm for standard
those invicta/pazon coils are pretty horrid little things the HT leads on the one i had seemed hard wired, the clip in ones work loose and the clip broke just looking at it. The leads are the same as the old Bougiechord red and will go hard and "off" id bought one to try it but really didnt fancy fitting it and gave it away.

the higher resistance for the coil means less current and so more points friendly its lower resistance coils that cause the problems if you dont have an ignition suitable
