Ok, I'll confess I haven't read through all of the pointless replies but having seen the few that make sense all I would add is that adding a good few degrees of negative camber to the front arms might mean you only need to narrow the track by a couple of cms. Removing the lip from the wing and adding a rounded edge using 3-6mm steel rod gives you a little more clearance. If you only need to take a couple off cms of the overall track (at the centre of the hub as opposed to the actual track of the tyres on the road) then you might have enough thread on the track rods that you can trim 5mm off the end of each piece and still have enough thread and enough adjustment?

My old bamboo had its (135) tyres tucked inside standard front arches and I had no rubbing at all, and didn't have to shorten anything, just with a couple of degrees of camber.

It depends on what you want it to look like I suppose, my car has a slightly wider track due to wheel offsets and widths and a smidge of negative camber, it handles fine and I wonder if narrowing the whole affair might make it a bit odd when driving it hard.

Hi Russell
Hopefully it will look almost like standard, maybe 1 or 1.5 cms narrower each side, just enough for tyres to miss wings. The idea is...Narrower Lna gearbox with gs discs and calipers (already sorted),standard length driveshafts with no spacer (already sorted), narrowed and turned front arms(sorted), adapter for change from 3 stud to 5 stud and finally alloy wheels with corrected offset to bring track back to 3cms narrower overall with the kingpins not catching inside of rims(now ordered, now I know trackrods can be changed).
Hope I've explained this OK. It would appear that with AK or Acadiane trackrods the final part has come together.

Cheers

Sweet, I hope you're going to post pictures of this beast?

Just another thought about what's been said already, shortening the front arms at the kingpin end is waaaay easier that shortening a rack.

Yes thats what I've done, dont understand where shortening the rack came into the conversation perhaps around post 3 or 4????
Would like to channel as well but having trouble with clearance under bonnet with supercharger mounted. Have seen a couple of cars with the front chassis legs straightened to drop engine lower. if I can get Lna box lower at rear this may be a way to go......any thoughts guys?

I guess that would also overcome the light bar problem too? If its a Citroen chassis I'd think twice but your average galv chassis would be easy enough.

Its actually for a Dyane. I have a secondhand galv chassis (one of Ken's) so I think a simple vee to bring the front down would be quite easy. Need to do some more measuring to see if I can get rear of Lna box to clear steering.

I might be barking up the wrong tree here, but is this the ex-Clewer 1299cc Dyane, previously ODA***X?
