 Dilemma. Boot box
dilemma My boot box is covered in lots of pretty stickers. One apparently rare. I cant decide weather to strip them all off to re gel coat to red, and at same time fix the bashes, or weather to leave it Opinions

 Re: Dilemma. Boot box
Take detailed photos of the boot stickers for posterity. One photo for each sticker. Then send the photo of the rare sticker to me. I'll make a copy of it, using Illustrator or Inkscape or something. Then you can get a one-off (or short run) made if and when you want to... or simply print out the photo and have it as a momento. In the meantime strip all the old stickers off, fix up your boot box and give it a new lease of life.

 Re: Dilemma. Boot box
So, if you brought me your boot box in my professional capacity and said "Sam, I'd like to donate this object to a museum" it would be stabilised so as not to deteriorate further then placed in storage.
But clearly you bought it to use it... so if it was me, I would either make sure all the stickers were well stuck down and lacquer it.

It's what we did with Sparky's bootlid. We have the original, with 20+ years of stickers, in faded original paint. And, for when we want a pretty-pretty, we have a second bootlid in shiny new paint. TBH, that's rare. Normally, the stickery faded one's on. Job's a good 'un.

 Re: Dilemma. Boot box
Depends what they're stickers for, as well? If they're from meetings that you, someone you know, or your car went to, then great, I'd keep them - maybe even try to paint around them? But if they're "just" stickers, and are just going to irritate you in their general tattiness, then I'd get rid. As well as Smiffy's idea of photographing them, a lot of the time you can peel them off in one piece. In that case stick them to a sheet of A4 and post them to Neil for his folder!

Heck, they're only stickers. Neil's probably got them all 5 times over in his file anyway!

You can make some nice cabinet from it or just have it on the wall somewhere in garage or house. Than, buy another one and start traveling again and collecting stickers. I believe there is some plastic boot box on the market. And also , you can buy mine if you like it ... http://2cvkeza-pricelist.weebly.com/accessories.html
