 Re: Towing a 2CV
I thought they attached to the front suspension arms so the car will pivot around it's normal steering axis.I have a mate in the village who has just towed his GS engined 2cv back from UK on his 'A' frame I will check with him,but I'm sure it's as I say and the whole thing is held with ratchet straps .

 Re: Towing a 2CV
What is the easiest way to raise the front suspension. Basically to allow clearance for the A frame. Then I could give it a go to see if it works.

 Re: Towing a 2CV
Looking at your pictures you have 2 good tow eyes on your chassis which it attaches. Then it does not move after that so no need to raise the car up. The A frame always stays in place (like a caravan). If there is a steering lock on your car then this will need to be off so front wheels just follow the tow car.... So it says on ECAS site

 Re: Towing a 2CV
My panic is over. On first glance I was going to send it back thinking it would never work. I had to take the numberplate off as this was lower than the pumper and would have bent. But I attached it to the eyelets on the chassis, put a soft pad under the bumper and then the tow just lifts the car up slightly to attach to the Renault. Took it for a spin and the car follows lovely. The only thing wrong is I have no brake lights on the bloody renault - so the longest part of the job was fault finding this, which I have not got to the bottom of yet.... crappy French cars.... . Cheers for the moral support, will post a photo later.

 Re: Towing a 2CV
I have the magnetic lights that I picked up from a Bourse this past weekend (€25.. bargain) and I have just bought some red letters and a white piece of plastic board to make the "En Remorque" sign as I remembered you mentioning this before. I have even modified the number plate on the front to "James Bond" style except mine have a couple of wing nuts for easy removal - (number plate is too low for the A frame) I should be set for next weekend and saved myself €210 in trailer rental. Quite chuffed now.... specially after the initial panic and what have I wasted my money on
