Re: Olive the Blueberries & Cream D*lly
Have used one similar to that on my Mini back in the 90's. Worked fine (before crap imports from China). Do you have enough room to fit it? I took apart a LMA engine that had done 250,000kms and the nuts looked like yours but with correct socket and slowly, slowly they came off... Just go by feel, if it feels wrong stop...

Re: Olive the Blueberries & Cream D*lly
The nuts on the clamps were at least as bad but came off ok. You might be right about lack of space especially the ones at the rear.

Re: Olive the Blueberries & Cream D*lly
I've had a pair of spliters for years they are excellent and have never failed to do the job, access might be a bit tight on a 2cv. If you've safe room an application of heat wont go amiss if you can't use spilters. As Ken posted brass nuts are the way to go,at one time brass was the norm on manifolds on all the cars I've worked on over the years. Which ever way you go gently does it is the method

Re: Olive the Blueberries & Cream D*lly
All eight nuts/bolts were liberated on Thursday Went gently-firmly with lots of duck oil, spray grease and shock and unlock spray. One of the studs unwound itself with the nut attached, being the only odd thing to happen. Hopefully tomorrow I can get the replacement manifold in place.
