Post Dead dash light
Trying to help a friend with his mot
The dash light doesnt illuminate the speedo (mot fail)
Theres no power in the purple wire which is an live?? When the lights are on any setting...
What could the cause be? Checked all usual mickey mouse stuff (fuses etc)
Is this on the same circuit as the side lights as he has had problems with sidelights before...!!

Could i take a wire through from the switch or something to illuminate it?

Cheers

If you can find the wire that does the side lights from the switch then join to this one and to the light - what about the earth on the light - is it OK?

Tried earthing manually. Still no joy.

I geuss i need more time tools etc and some wire to sort it
Should i therefore make the wire that is inline with it on the fuel gauge also live? (Is that another light..?)

Cheers

Then you will need to join it to the new feed. Do not forget to tape the old feed just incase it become live in the future

Ok

Is the purple wire a light behind the fuel gauge?

Since this car has been messed with before I don't feel too bad snipping the purple ended wire and taping the old dead wire up and wiring it up to the switch..

Ill try do that tomorrow ..

I guess a play with the multimeter will show me which wire the terminal needs to go onto..
