I use super unleaded in all the cars when in France as the standard unleaded is E10 and it's usually only a cent dearer.

Over here the 2CV only has 95 but the fiat always has 98 (until I had it six years ago it had only ever run on leaded 4* (half a tank full a year!). The merc. usually has 95 but occasionally (if I have an extra shell points voucher) put in 98.

I always use 95 ron even on now turbo engine - E10 is around but most garages sell 95 ron.... Never had a problem, with standard ignition, 123 or 1-2 spark... Never driven Dyane in UK so do not know the difference....

An observation....

The odour/smell of UK fuel compared to Continental fuel is like chalk and cheese.

It does, however, taste just as bad as British fuel.

That's a big jump, pretty sure it wasn't that different when I last visited in November, even on the autoroutes.

Usually 3 cents - I did use 98ron when Dyane had original 9:1 pistons but been seeing the gap getting bigger but yesterday was a shock. Will keep an eye open when snows go at the other super markets...Maybe just a spike
