Viking,
you can count me out.

Since it's -2 *C in the shed, I'm staying close to this and sorting out the VAT & tax returns...

Can I join

Oh well, my welder didn't want to feed any wire, so luckily I'm back inside.

Enjoy that very cosy fire place.

Same here. Outside work is too cold and working on my 2CV in the poly-tunnel too. So I am also sorting out VAT and Tax and I am making offers for potential Garden construction projects. Nice and warm , a biscuit and a cup of coffee to it.Sorry !

Am I the only one with nice warm workshop ?

Well I hated all my small workshops in past 20 years... freezing without proper heating device. Or working outside in fu****g snow or rain...

Welcome here :) ;)

You boys want to try boat building! Gave up this afternoon when the snow blowing in the shed had buried the angle grinder spanner so I couldn't change the disc... :?

Do you remember that extra-cold snap in 2010, when it didn't get above freezing for a month?
I had to have an electric blanket around the gas bottle, switched on 24/7 to stop the gas freezing as it passed through the regulator.
Gas for the blowlamp to preheat critical welds was parked near the radiators in the house and the only item in the shed with no heating was me, unless you count putting my welding gauntlets near a weld that had just been completed.

Afraid that this time round, that pair of van chassis (350 & 400) on order are going to wait a while.
Typical, as there's stock of standard types sitting around, both disc and drum.

Ah mam - er.. memories! Yes, real winter  Happily boats are made of real metal so I use a stick welder which laughs @ cold weather, not so fond of swimming or dust tho... which only leaves me pathetic excuses like loosing stuff in the snow :D
Can't even use the excuse that the Ami on snow tyres can't get there....

The LPG tank on the van's got an electrically heated collar clipped to the neck. Might be worth seeing about adapting that idea?
