Re: Not just the key to comedy.........Timing
I'd settle for one like this, sent mine over to N.I. for my brother to use when he was stationed at RAF Aldergrove with the Royal Engineers in the late '60s. They sent his mob elsewhere at short notice and the bike was forgotten about...

Now this is thoroughly OT... try kickstarting a 500 motorcrosser with a sheared woodruff key in the flywheel. It broke the kickstart lever, I was quite pleased to be wearing boots, but it still hurt.
If anyone knows of anything british over 250cc for sale under £500, give me a shout. I'm expecting it to need work at that price.

Joolz, I know that Christmas is on the way, season of goodwill and all that, but I don't think charity has been added to the mix just yet. Have you checked the prices that are being asked for these old Brit bikes nowadays? I had a scout around earlier and thought it (almost, but not quite) made the world of 2CVs look relatively sane... I know but don't ask = don't get, I could have sworn there were ridable B40s around just a year ago for under a grand, but where are they now?

Pass... Recently got shot of the 250 MZ which I'd taken as a trade for a bucketload of welding on a 2CV years ago, so now there's just the Honda XL125 to move on, then I can get the rotovator and lawn mower back in their shed. He's got some old Brit stuff he's looking to get rid of. Incidentally, he brought a lot of Brit bike stuff back from Nigeria ten years or so ago, but one of the things he narrowly missed out on was a warehouse full of brand new delivery mileage Bonnevilles exported for the Nigerian army. Still had the plastic wrapping on the seats, apparently. Any guesses as to the value of one of those nowadays?

A large load of nos Bonny's dumped on the market should bring the price down a bit! Is that a sprung hub Speed Twin Ken? My dad had a '54 one new and used to rave about it tho by the time I was riding they were considered to have rather dodgy handling... m

3T, its 17 bhp? 350cc engine didn't seem to suffer as much from the vibration on the larger parallel twins. Mine had a sprung hub, so you needed to watch out for bigger potholes. Other than that, it was perfect for just tootling along minding your own business... citroenboat wrote: Is that a sprung hub Speed Twin Ken? Re: Not just the key to comedy.........Timing
Sean/ken/ anyone.. Does the 7x teeth principle still count for a 435cc engine? I have ordered a strobe mentioned in the early part of this thread and intend to check my timing on full advance
Thanks in advance
