Do you actually suffer? I find mine warms up really quickly

I often wonder why people think 2cvs are cold as well. It's certainly warmer on short journeys in a 2cv than in my Dad's modern Jag, which insists on blowing cold air at you for the first 5 mins of a journey, and then takes a while to warm up due to it being larger inside than a 2cv. For sure, the Jag gets really hot inside (if you want it to) once it's got going, and doesn't require the engine to be working hard for a decent amount of heat to come into the car, but still, 2cvs really ain't that bad! They demist their screens extremely quickly as well.

yup 2.5 diesel barely gets warm in the first15 miles, 2cv blowing warm by the top of the hill in less than 2

I agree .......my 2CV warms up far quicker than my C4 coupe.
It also has a sorta pleasant warm, oily, old car smell that my C4 does'nt have [and NO! ......the heads are'nt blowing/leaking].
I fit the grill muff in early October, make sure the cardboard heater pipes are in good nick and fitted correctly [it may help to initially remove the pipes and ensure that the two flaps in the heat exchangers are fully closed, to allow maximum warm air into the car] ......I also buy Motorcycle visor "Anti-Misting" spray from M/C shops ......[or sometimes its available in Poundland/Poundworld shops] .....and I spray it onto my rear window.
I also have a set of carpet/mats in my 2CV [fitted over the standard rubber mats] .....I guess that helps too .......[and I'm lucky insomuch as my 2CV must be one of the few that does'nt leak].

Can't say I have an issue with the C4, I fitted the grill muff last month and there's nice warmth piping through after a mile or so. 2CVs are not great in slow moving traffic, you just don't get the volume of air coming through, but they are very good once up to speed.

we might run a 240v heater via an extension lead out to the car 10 mins before the wife has to leave to help with the de-frosting BUT the main problem is coming from water ingress by getting in down the air vents somewhere or by the A pillars and the boot via rubber screen and lock!
if we could keep the car drier inside then misting and freezing up would be reduced.
where does the water get in useually towards the front by the door panels
or should i say what are the common leaks & how to fix?

the only thing which doesn't let water in is the glass of the windscreen, otherwise,
windscreen rubber
wiper axles
ventflap
doorrubbers
roof
rustholes at bonnet hinge, windscreen a.s.o

I believe they were standard issue with the kdf/vw kubelwagons that went east.....a very rare piece of kit now as not many survived.
