Do you work on your engine in the dark? :o

I've had to work on my [2cv] engine in the dark .....when the car broke down 12 miles from home.

I phone the RAC and let them deal with it. If its dark, cold, wet and doesn't work then bollocks to it.

Which is a brilliant philosophy ......until you're left in a layby for an hour & a half,on a cold wet night waiting for the RAC van to appear ......and the problem can be [was] solved in 10 minutes [see above reply ;) ]

I hear that, my Honda cub blew and ripped a rear tyre on the way home from work at 5 in the morning at Highnam on the a40, had to wait 3 hours for a pick up from the AA as they didn't have a driver who knew how to collect a bike......not cool..... :x

Oohhh.....bias and prejudice.... :D
Citroen also didn't think they needed rustproofing..... ;)

Actually I have found volvo electrics to be shocking (pun  )...only time I have ever properly broken down was in the 740....but for a quality comfy solid drive with a certain boxy ruggedness they have their place... :)

I've been toying with replacing one of the Dyanes with a 740 turbo, especially if I can find a decent early one with the four speed overdrive layout. 8-) Volvos are so unfashionable these days, they're cool.
