Oddly having been to and stayed in Paris a few times I can count on one hand how many 2cv's and the like I saw whilst there.

I'm sure they're all over, in side streets and areas that are slightly off the tourist trail. I also don't see how being university educated has a bearing on the money you pay for a car.
It's all just overhyped crap, it would be very hard to police + just nick a newer numberplate so the ANPR equivalent don't pick it up.

So it is working in Germany. The french are just copiing the germans to reduce harmful exhaust material.

According to a german friend of mine driving a Mini, there's no evidence of better air in cities after this ban. So another good argument of not doing so.

Good point it doesn't mention the eu to be fair, but France has to meet eu driven targets for emissions

s'funny. I thought the Kyoto protocol and similar emission targets were global.

"They are part of a plan to turn Paris into a Low Emission Zone, cutting emissions by 30 per cent by 2015. Failure to comply with European air pollution norms could see Brussels slap a 100 million-euro fine on France in 2016. "

Funnily enough I don't recall mentioning kyoto or seeing it in the article but i did see this bit, so i take that back, it does mention the eu.

Just remind me - this was a Telegraph article, yes?

EVERYTHING, according to the Telegraph, is the fault of one of three groups... Immigrants, the EU, the BBC.

The German Umweltzones aren't all cities - they're very clearly signed where they are.

It was a Telegraph article yes, but i didn't put the link up i just read it.

Nor do i read the Daily Heil , but i will concede that i do have a bit of a thing for pointless EU policies; as i said earlier probably coming from the stuff they constantly try to foist on the bike world .

I could bore you with some examples, but i probably won't unless you really want me too. :geek:

Or the example here on the latest interfering proposal, which, unfortunately isn't a joke :(

Some key EU laws.

Some recent/ongoing campaigns against EU bike laws.
