I agree.

But that wasn't the sole reason - I picked up some turn plates for an MOT ramp for Richard Dalton near me so was going up anyway and it just so happened that it coincided with the 2cv needing an MOT.

He also happens to be my godfather so I stayed with him for a couple of days :)

I put the new (old) Dyane on the drive. Having driven it for a few hundred miles, I've got an idea of the odd jobs that need doing on it. First thing (which I did when I got it home) was to adjust the clutch bite point as it was somewhere around knee level  . Next thing is to get the brake drums off and adjust the brake shoes all round. The brakes work well once you've pumped them up, but they're nowhere near as good as they should be. Otherwise, this is a great little car. I'm really chuffed with it, my only worry is that it's a bit too nice to be used by someone like me as a daily hack.

Insured Nippy the sidewinder, as realised Mike had lapsed his insurance on it as he now has Scoobasteves Beemer and I no longer have driving of other cars extension on any of my other policies, with Footman James for £98 on classic car policy.....

Drove it for the first time in nearly 3 weeks. Realised what I'd been missing. I love driving my 2CV.

Just sorting something to eat, then getting the 2CV out and using it to get to work in about half hour or so.

Fitted a borrowed engine at long last, in what must have been the longest engine swap in history.
