 Re: The O/T thread! My insurance company sent me a nice letter with a refund of about £60 attached because I'd sacked off their cover as I no longer needed it. My boss, on the other hand had to pay his insurance company a massive admin charge and some other fee to cancel his insurance. Hooray for NFU and Boo to direct line.

Re: The O/T thread! Come on guys,some of them vans are cool.Nope,very cool.I know Twaty Oliver is SUPPOSED to have one,but does he drive it every day?I doubt it.Does he take it to shows ?Nope.Would he get his hands dirty servicing it ? Deffo no.
The people who own old Vee Dubs are just like us except they have chosen a different vehicle to spend their hard earned cash on.A well restored Samba in my eyes is just as good as an H van,the same hard work goes into both.
Right ,thats it,I'm done now.
Oh,was I dreaming this morning or did I see a pic of my van at Grahams,then it was gone.
Whats going on there then?????

I don't mind the people who are classic car, oily fingernails people who happen to like VWs - as you say, they're much the same as us only with two more cylinders - it's the ones like those you describe who annoy me. And sadly, many of the VW campers I see seem to be driven by folks like this. Whereas nowadays, most small classics (Morris Minors, Reliants, classic Minis and the like) will respond to a wave from some scruffy bloke in an equally scruffy Dyane, most (though not all) VW bus drivers just content themselves with a glare expressing a sort of bemused disgust.
