Managed to get some work done today,

Swapped the key for a switch and button, whilst doing that just thought was there something in the MOT that's states: a steering lock is required if originally fitted, :?: :?:

Anyway got that sorted and the beast sort of runs now, well only on fast tick over, soon as you wind it down a be or start putting the choke in a bit it just cuts out, restarts fine then will just cut out again!!!
Any ideas???

No worries, thank James for posting it! Sorry it was ghetto wrapped, all I could find was some electrical tape and a box for an oil filter.

Is the little electronic thingy on the carb connected to your live feed? My 1220cc ran like a sack of sh1t without it.

That would be the solenoid cut-off for the idle circuit, so hardly surprising that it needed to be hooked up to the ignition. ;)

When the one on our 652 Visa failed, it was possible to fit a standard idle jet as a replacement.
