Still managed the 70 mile round trip to Lou's then work and back home but, running like a sack of shit. And, I've broken the 2 into 1 exhaust/crossbox replacement. So, this evening, I've finally fitted my favourite engine and shoved an "empty" crossbox on it. Time to test it by going for a pint of guest from my favourite barmaid.

Parked between a nice [1991?] "J" plate VW Golf Cabrio and a tidy looking Moggy 1000.
Did'nt find out who the owners were as they'd gone when we came out.

Re: What did you do with your A Series today? Discovered that the reason for the poor running and cutting out on the Ami was not due to perished fuel line....oh no... it was due to the poxy fuel gauge telling lies. I've got no ruddy fuel in it!

Re: What did you do with your A Series today? I took my heater cables off, squirted some dry lube down the outers, then reassembled everything. Now the heater not only works, but - get this - can be operated from within the car.

Re: What did you do with your A Series today? i did that too rythm theif, i took them right off and removed the inners then oiled them, its good to have the heater working properly

Re: What did you do with your A Series today? Renewed SORN on the van. Insured the white one - £100 (FJ). Also replaced its interior light bulb. Replacement didn't work. Gave up.

Mine has a bad earth, something as simple as closing the door can switch it in or off for me!!
I may one day get around to earthing it properly
