mine failed because it didn,t hav boots fitted over the outer trackrod ends sean

They looked at the boots on the track rod ends on my car, decided they were fubar but then decided they weren't really boots anyway so passed it.

i think it depends wat garage u take the 2cv,s to, they seem to vary
