Bloomin' 'eck, George,
that should be enough excitement to last you a good while.
What you need is a spell in the restful environment of a university and if you don't get the required grades, the moon really is a balloon... ;)

48pop,
if it's an Iskra unit, don't bin the old one just yet, as it's relatively easy to fit new brushes in them.

amazin' tune. Sounds ace blatting along in a 2cv with indian/saudi/turkish tunes on well loud, the two go well together.
I used to find this worked pretty well, especially when rolling up at the lights:

Just got home from the ICCCR after a 2 day break in Staffordshire.

On the trip down the M40 past Ott Moor between Banbury and Oxford, I experienced the worst rain and wind in my 44 years of driving.

The car was blown around like a piece of litter. My right arm was intermittently showered when the wind was so fierce as to flex the door seal.

The wipers could not remove the torrents of water slashing onto the windscreen and to top it all one front wheel span at 55 mph when the tyre aquaplaned causing the car to lurch to one side which must have been disconcerting for the vehicle following.

Of course, I had it under full control :o All in all a most exciting days drive. :D

After driving 250 miles from the ICCCR, the front N/S wheel blew about 10 miles from home. [/quote]

Just interested in what make of tyre and how old it was if you know?
Any known reason for the blowout?

John

Today I've worked on headlamp reflector security; both sides were held in by just the screw on top; No longer - I've fashioned some bent tin to keep the buggers from rattling around (the locating lugs are missing off the bottoms of both reflectors). Also adjusted the N/S rear door latch - it's been loose since I bought the car & the door has never shut properly (unsurprisingly!) - it now shuts perfectly, almost as good as say, a Bentley Mulsanne...
