Post 2 pack vs Celly
Out of curiosity, why is it (gospel?) that 2cv's should be painted in celloulouse paint and not 2 pack ourely out of curiosity?

I ask as i had the rear of my car re sprayed a while back andnthe guy used 2 pack and you cant tell he ever did anything to it ..

I believe that cellulose is the novice's choice cos it's safer/simpler/cheaper etc
while the 2-pack is superior but intended for profs.

2pack vs celly, one helluva rap battle that...

I've never heard of cellulose being gospel, but maybe it just fits in better with the overall aesthetic of the cars. 2 pack seems overkill to me, normally reserved for expensive shiny shiny jobs.

I painted my Fiat 500 in 2pack, Air fed mask, full body suit etc....Was a pain in my tiny Garage. Paint was fairly brittle and easy to chip, (could have been my prep....)

Just painted this car in Celly in the same small garage, much easier.....and possible to get nice finish off of the gun, (with the right skills, (which I lack :) )). was easy to blow in a repair when I scratched it....

Celly is still available, and polishes up very shiny, but you need to look around. I used a RAL colour....and BTW, its not really cheaper....

You have a 500? I'd LOVE one of those cars. The choice was between a 500 and 2cv. Sadly rusted wrecks where going for 3k and that seemed too much to me. One day I will own one

looked not too bad

What's that red thingy, 48pop - an early Porsche replica or summat?

As for paint, James, 2-pack can sometimes look a bit 'plasticky' with some strong colours - very shiny and somehow false. Not always the case, of course, but it's something I've noticed myself and have heard others mention.

Celly is still capable of giving a good shine, and is much easier to set up and use. Doesn't kill you quite as much either.
