Don't worry Staf, even most Brits think that Rotherham Grand Priks thing is unfunny. I remember seeing it when it was first broadcast and I thought it was shite even then - and at that time I used to laugh at almost anything.

Jasper Carrot had a running gag for a while, where from time to time he'd drop in some "hilarious" quip about 2CVs eg "if it collided with a rabbit, the rabbit would walk away, shaking its head, thinking it had something in its ear". See? Hilarious!

These people are very stupid. If you're going to put a car into a drift, you really need the skills to get it out of it again. Unless I'm missing something ...

I'm angry. Why?

I work along a piece of road called the birdham straight. Whenever the sun comes out it seems the world wants to go to west wittering beach. Yesterday the traffic jam was 9 miles long. Working around this is annoying

So they queue for miles to only then pay 17 pounds parking a car,
Most sunny days there full at 5k cars. Means there turnover per day could be 85k just from parking. Or just shy of 600k a week

I'm in the wrong business

In fairness the estate invest a huge proportion of that in maintaining the sand spit that protects a rare salt marsh habitat. Ironically a great deal of the issues at the site of special scientific interest are caused by rising sea levels and 'global warming' - often blamed in the mass media on cars and exhaust emissions so if you follow that school of though all that traffic probably doesn't help!

Have a look here if you don't know what James and I are wittering on about: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/West_Wittering

But, yes I totally agree with you James, the traffic to the beach is horrific. You'd be better going via a Rib from Emsworth

Post Re: The O/T thread!
So yesterday i was at the wheel in my first crash....
Thankfully not in the 2cv...

I went to pull out but the car sed up so stopped and the retard behind me in his brand new audi drove into the back of me...

Luckily 3 days previous i fitted the toe bar, so punched a hole in his bumper and number plate.... But what amazed me is, there was a queue of traffic behind me and not one of thenpeople who saw it stopped to say they witnessed it or to make sure we were all right just drove round in ignorance i was gobsmacked i would of stopped to make sure they where ok etc

Luckily the 106 was fine, sadly the brand new audi didnt have a toeball shaped hole in his rad!

nice to see audi drivers living up to their reputation. Glad the car's ok - it's the best reason for putting a tow bar on a 2CV.
