Did a better fix to the exhaust this morning. I opened a tin of baked beans, emptied the contents into another container (and had them this evening ), used a tin opener to remove the bottom and then cut the tin from top to bottom using a sharp scissors. I then wrapped the tin around the exhaust and used a jubilee clip to secure it in place. Sorted!! Should last till Tuesday when it's booked in to have a new one fitted.

Re: What did you do with your A Series today?
oil and filter, tappets, timing 2nd choke butterfly changed the pipe on the tank taking the carb off as it seems to be leaking from the base might put the dyane carb on and try the dyane air filter and mess about with underbonnet wheel. all of which means ive missed the PO so the nuts that turned up again after the hasty depart from Reg will have to wait till tomorrow
