I've got 6 minutes to spare...... So, a quick rundown on my little "adventure".

Set off on the Thursday lunchtime in torrential rain to find that the grommets I'd put in the holes left from the tat rack (on the cab roof) weren't keeping the water out. So' I stopped at Strensham Services (about 35 miles/58kms from home) to try and seal them up a bit.

I managed to stop the water coming in but, getting the van started again proved a bit more difficult!

Once it started, we were on our way again and, we plodded on down to Exeter services for fuel-no starting issues that time.

However, the heavens really opened and the wind started to blow-the rest of the journey down to Plymouth was terrifying!!

The ferry was then delayed by the weather for 1 1/2 hours so, I was forced to sit in the bar on the boat for an extra hour and a half-c'est terrible!

Anyway, after an excitingly bumpy crossing, we arrived in Roscoff on time! :o

Got off the ferry and stopped at the first photo opportunity. Then, carried on to Brest where I spotted an orange 2CV down at the port. Then, onto a lovely little village called Locranon to meet Louise and the kids for a picnic.

From there, I headed the 150ish miles over to La Trinite Porhoet-journey was, as I say, "interesting" thanks to knackered steering rack, detatched shocks, broken gearbox mounting and serious blowing exhaust.

Saturday morning loomed large and, after being well and truly fed by Viking and Lorraine, I picked a steering rack from Viking's pile and started stripping it.

Many coffee/fag/baguette/coffee/coffee/fag breaks later, I had a reconditioned rack, stripped, cleaned and greased track rod ends with gaitors now fitted, a new gearbox mount, a blow free exhaust and re-attached shock absorbers.

At which point, I was forced to each a delicious meal and drink cidre-sacre bleu, will the torture never end?!

After a good nights sleep (for me anyway, I hope Erick was feeling better quickly Viking?) I headed off to Quimper for another picnic and to grab the beer that Louise had got for me as I was a bit busy on the Saturday!

And the, it was time to head to Brest for the shittest Etap I've ever stopped in-avoid Etap Brest-Sud!!

Before I knew it, I was in the queues at Roscoff to board the ferry for home.

Hey ho, it was very brief, quite hard work, I got very wet and, of course, nearly died on the way there. But, I had an excellent time.

Once again, massive thanks to Peter and lorraine for welcoming me into their home and feeding me so well and forcing me to drink cidre-yum! 8-)

Shit picture time.......

Cheers Neil.

I forgot to mention one of the highlights of my trip, I got stopped by "les garcon en bleu" on the first day. First time I've been stopped in France-I think they were just being nosey really.

To be quite honest, i couldnt give a monkeys! everyone's entitled to their opinion, when I first fitted things like cut-out wings and roof rack, peoples reactions were good. It was my van at the time, I wanted a rack so I fitted one. It's the same with the wheels I had- I wanted them so I had them.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder..

Thought it about time I posted something on here although, if I'm honest, there's not much to report because it's spent most of the last month and a half standing idle on my drive.

I took it to a VW show at Stanford Hall last month-got a good reception from folk there and, it was damn good fun hooning it across a rutted field while other's were pussyfooting around.

Urm, and I used it yesterday to go to my mates to fix her Wolly.

And, as I said I would, Iused it today to go to group head office. Once again, a great hoon back from Tamworth down the motorway-it definately pisses people off when they've still not shaken a 2CV van off their arses at 80ish mph!

Oh, I've also just rewired half the rear end of it as the stoplamp wasn't working on the left side and the tail lamp wasn't working on the drivers side.

When I've bothered to sort out my photobucket account, I'll start putting shit pictures on here again. Bet you can't wait...........
