What's the general current concensus on Mazda mx5s? Are they still, as they always were, a hairdressers car that really made a bold statement about a man if he drove one, or are they past that now? It's just about the only rwd car you can buy nowadays for under £500. In fact they are ridiculously cheap at the moment and I though maybe once my 2cv has sold and I have a spare space in the barn I might pick one up for a bit of fun. But I don't want to if bigger boys will laugh at me.

It's ok Russ I understand what your going through, I have a ghey uncle...
He was a pioneer of homosexuality, in fact he still is, holding strong in the closet, problem is the closet is made of glass, he still has no idea we can all see in!

Maybe if you stick a bumper sticker on it all will be forgiven "I'm not ghey I just enjoy the lifestyle!"

Harley

PS. I live by that ^^^ statement...

Planning on running a de hunidifier in my lockup. Maybe damp soaking bags might be better

A big fan to circulate the air will reduce condensation and doesn't need a lot of power.

The MX-5 is supposed to be a great car. Practical Classics say nice things about them all the time; apparently the early 1.6 litre model is the one to go for. I thought about buying one when I sold the Ami, but I went for the Land Rover instead. If you want one, buy one. Who gives a fuck what anyone else thinks? That's the rule I live my life by.

I think they're great little cars, my friend loves hers. Would suit you Russ, hair blowing in the wind...

Did you se the V8 one at goodwood?

James, NEVER leave a dehumidifier unattended they can be very dangerous.

Also, unless your garage is hermetically sealed it's a waste.

I've just read about this in Private Eye. This chap was apparently too important to queue with all the other traffic, so he drove his Porsche through the cones into, er, a freshly concreted lane. Before he'd managed to get it free the concrete had set all around the car's undercarriage and that was that. Fortunately, someone caught it on video, which is the important thing.

I have less hair than you.

So, basically, it's ok for me to buy one, but I just shouldn't mention it and make sure I'm not seen in it. Similarly, My mum has just bought a diahatsu copen, and whilst it is a hoot to drive, every Time i see my dad drive it I have to admit he looks like a dick.
