 Re: Supercharger
It gives really torque from iddling all the way up. It gives you instant boost; hitting the throttle means boost, not like (my) turbo it needs time to spin up building up boost, so not good for 4x4 (only for racecars). Wanted to have one also from Harley but then 1-2-spark came along and the rest is history.......... The supercharger was making the little Visa wheels spinning... I think this is the way to go for 4x4 2cv...... I think for a 2cv in general.
But this guy was using a SU carburator and fuel to air ratio was way off in his car. Very much to rich at iddling till 4000 rpm and then it went to lean, so just the other way around. 123 ignition was way off too. pinking all the time. So he decided to take a programmable ecu (KMS in his case) his brother is the dealer for Belgium to get things right.. (This will happen this week or next week he said.)
1-2-spark could eleminate the pinking I'm sure but not the rich/lean fuellmixure. But maybee he's taking the wrong SU carbutor!!

 Re: Supercharger
Great info lpgo, HEREis a good tech article about the SU carby and supercharging and also a sizing chart HEREwhich mentions superchargers and also how to tune the SU. Looks like the 1-2-spark could have a nice place in the market! Harley

 Re: Supercharger
You need a intercooler to because the charged??? air is building up so much heat that the paint is burning on the inlet manifold!!

lpgo wrote: You need a intercooler to because the charged??? air is building up so much heat that the paint is burning on the inlet manifold!! Maybe for a Turbo !!! I will try without intercooler 4 simple things. 1: Cold air induction, like Dyane inlet tube or bonnet scoop 2: Phenolic gasket between inlet manifold and cylinder head: Autospeed article3: Modern electronic ignition like 1-2-spark 4: Keep boost down to 7psi... This is all with my multi point fuel injection. With a carby you have the added advantage of the carb sitting on top of the supercharger cooling it and the intake air temp with fuel (and filling small air gaps in charger equalling more efficient boost!) Lets hope that is all Harley
