Re: Joyce, The 1981 Rouge Castille Dyane
Today (31st March 2011) marks the 18th anniversary of Joyce being off the road (going by the date on the last tax disc)
As I've been at college all day, I didn't have much opportunity to help dad get her running, but tomorrow, we are going to get some more stuff done, so I will try and get pictures, as I've kind of neglected this thread.

Joyce need to watch her seats, or they'll end up in Poppy... well, the back one, anyway! She's never had a matching set, and she started out with those.

Re: Joyce, The 1981 Rouge Castille Dyane
Finally got round to sticking pictures on my computer so here goes. Not much technical detail in these pictures, mainly just me farting around with a new camera bootlid and rear wings are at home, primered and ready to be re-painted interior. not too shabby apart from the holes in the floor engine. stuff is being put back on rather than being taken off now out of the garage while there was no rain the crud that came out of the exhaust

Re: Joyce, The 1981 Rouge Castille Dyane
Been a while since I've bothered updating this, oops. Well, over last summer (before I went off to uni, and while my dad wasn't too busy with membership stuff) we managed to get her running, and various mechanical issues dealt with. We then hit a bit of a brick wall, in that neither of us can weld, so the main issues left were welding related, so Joyce was put on hold for a bit. While I was at uni, my dad turned his attention into dealing with bodywork, and, as it happens, my bedroom into a paintshop ("well it's the only place where I can leave body panels without being disturbed" etc etc) My parents managed to acquire some rouge castille(ish) paint that's a pretty close match to the original colour, so the boot and rear wings have been completely repainted: The doors didn't need so much attention, they had a small amount of patching over rust holes at the bottom, and have then been painted over. The driver's side door has also been stencilled with the 'Legless Frogs' design, as seen on both my parent's cars, as well as the free beer at the 2009 International Other stuff that's been done bodyworkwise includes the trough, which has been essentially rebuilt out of fiberglass, and then painted. Lastly, some filler has been applied to the rough bits on the back, which we didn't really discover until the bumper was taken off. I believe my dad has been busy with the paintbrush recently, so this has now been painted over and probably looks much better for it Well, that concludes the ongoing saga of Joyce the Dyane. I was hoping to get her to Register's Day in some form, possibly a-framing behind the Kia, but I don't think my dad was quite so keen... Hopefully by the end of the year she will be finally ready for the road!
