I agree with Studioru. I built Daffy Duck from a collection of parts. Separate hull, mixture of doors and mudguards, choice of engines and gearboxes. Bought a new chassis (standard Citroen pattern), new shock absorbers and new mounting bolts, new bolts for axle tube to chassis. Replace half of the suspension arm bearings, renwed seals and regreased. Replaced steering arms and knuckles and adjusters. Refurbished rack and replaced ball joints. Rebuilt engine, clutch and replaced starter, alternator, battery, regulator. Overhauled carby, new fuel pump, engine breather, added 123 ignition and Harley coil.
I had a terrific Raid and did 26,000 kms over three months. The standard 2CV was built to drive over a ploughed field with a crate of eggs without breaking any. Where would you like to fix your car? In the comfort of your own garage before the Raid, or on the side of a dirt track?
I would never fit a roll bar in a 2CV. I would in a Mercedes A class. Remember which one passed the Moose Test and which one didn't. The 2CV doen't have the propensity to roll because its soft suspension coupled with a very low centre of gravity and no anti-roll bars, means that centrifugal moments are taken care of by the body leaning. The VW Beatle rolled because it had a propensity to spin due to the rear swing axles and fairly stiff, flat cornering attitude. Spin and then stop the wheels on a gutter/rut and over you go.
The outback of Australia is littered with 4WDs that have rolled, never with 2CVs.

I have just parts... Only chassis i have, is a Ami 8 and body is going to be a old 2cv4. Engine and gearbox, 2cv6 and ami 8. Those i have. Some other parts. Chassis is allready streghened, so that is that.

Got some rims. 8 of them, I just have to find good ones and paint them. I have new tires, but they are just 125 mm X. So not keen on them. I have many tires from GS, so i have to look, if they are any good. Tomorrow i will see the chassis. My good friend has done it about 6 years ago and now he has done some more work for it. Standard 2cv 6 engine from Ami 6 or Visa engine, those are my possibilies. Hmm, ideas?

Standard 2CV6 is the way to go when raiding in remote places. Visa engine is good but if ignition fail you stay for a while. Standard can be fixed in no time.
145/15 Michelin are good raiding tyres, if not cracked in the sidewalls..

Yep, that is my opinion allso, engine i mean. Should be good. I bought it from Austria WM 01 and drove back to Finland, ´couse the original 2cv4 engine broke down. They changed it there in the garage area. It is in the same place that the chassis. My friends place. He has repaired it totally, so it ís in good condition. Have to check the gearbox though. My another good friend can provide me tires, so no problem.

Wet contact points are fixed in 10 mins. Electronic ignition is risky business when crossing rivers.
