Post Re: Exhaust Fitting
Ok, so I poked around some and I think I found the joints in the exhaust system you are referring to.

The joint between the swan neck and the crossbox.

The joint between the swan neck and the torpedo silencer.

What it looks like is that I need to loosen both joints and then swivel the swan neck around the joint connecting it to the crossbox and as it turns clockwise it will pull a bit out of the torpedo silencer. Does that sounds right?

The only other connection that looks interesting is this one... Which seems like if I loosened both sides would allow me to rotate the crossbox. But what I understand is that I do not need to touch that.

Hahaha, this is probably such an easy adjustment but I feel pretty good that I'm getting this far. Thanks again for all your input!

Those are the joins I meant, The other photo is where the crossbox is mounted. There should be enough play to fix it without touching that one like you said.

I have everythign loosened up. But the joint where the goose neck connects to the torpedo is so tight it wont move. Even without the clamp the gooseneck and the torpedo are connected and wont move freely from each other. Any ideas?

So far I removed the screws from the rear part of the torpedo thinking I would be able to get it moving but it didnt help. Then I used a little WD40 to try to get them separated but that did not work either. I am thinking probably my best bet is just to take it in to a Citroen garage.

Sometimes the best bet isn't to take it to a garage

Of you undo the two 11mm bolts on the gearbox holding the Crossbox on, sthen the cross box should slide forward and bring the whole ensembley together

I closed it all up now. Too much time with the car. Will re-attempt tomorrow or later this coming week. Thanks for the help. When I finally get this exhaust fitted well I will be so happy to post a new photo of the fitting!

Enjoy the rest of the weekend.
