Ate you going to run IPGO's ignition?

I'd love to see this in person. Looks amazing.

Is that transfer box from a little Suzuki?

Bit of a Diversion from the 4x4.
Broke three engine mounts in France, they are not designed to take a lot of abuse.

Fabricated a Heavy Duty Version.
Bits, Bush is from Citroen/Peugeot (Thanks to LB)

Will fit in the same way as a standard Mount, but if the bush fails the engine wont move to far.

That looks excellent.

Thoughts of mass producing them or doing a small run?

Hi Mark,
May do.
Havent tried on the road yet, suspect there will be more engine noise/vibration.
The standard mounts provide good isolation/cushioning.

Pete,
some other solutions, both of which I've used successfully on 2CV racers.

Drill though the middle of a standard engine mount so that an M6 bolt and nyloc nut can be fitted, tightened so that the rubber is just starting to be compressed.
Once installed with the engine's weight on it, it has no effect on the mount's isolation characteristics, but will prevent it being overloaded in tension.

The other method is to bind the middle section of the mount with strong nylon twine, with the knot on the top side so that it's clamped securely when the mount is bolted to the engine.
This will act in the same manner as the bolt and nut setup, however the MOT tester may be asking some questions. ;)

Ken

I do this too for many many years now; Works fine no trouble at all, hardly or not visible (MOT) never a floating engine anymore (speaking with old Citroen
words... models B12 B14 floating engine mounts almost 100 years ago)....

The bolt idea, I like and would survive, will have to investigate.

That looks good and strong Pete, out of interest do you know exactly where the bush is from and what size it is? I'm just wondering how it compares with the transit shock bushes I've been using which are for a 12mm bolt and 45mm OD.

not much to investigate; drill a hole trough each mount and put a bolt in.. 2 nuts!! from the other side and its done........ first remove the fan its easier acces :P :D :o
