 engine dating..... Hi Folks, is there a quick and easy way to date an engine? I have a spare engine in the shed and would like to know if I have a "llight" or "heavy" flywheel......I'm hoping its the latter, slow and steady would suit my driving style better  I also need a cylinder head (drivers side) with decent exhaust studs...... Re: engine dating..... what colour is the engine no plate and whats the number heavy flywheel has equally spaced M6 holes for the clutch cover , light has locating pins and M7 , the boss to the front of the starter ring is about 8-10mm ( without going out to measure one)and square on light, on heavy a pronounced sloping shoulder whats up now is it still not right? light flywheel at top centre of pic  compression test by Sean602, on Flickr heavy  DSC00173 by Sean602, on Flickr
