Post engine dating.....
Hi Folks,

is there a quick and easy way to date an engine?

I have a spare engine in the shed and would like to know if I have a "llight" or "heavy" flywheel......I'm hoping its the latter, slow and steady would suit my driving style better :)

I also need a cylinder head (drivers side) with decent exhaust studs......

Cheers
gerry

what colour is the engine no plate and whats the number

heavy flywheel has equally spaced M6 holes for the clutch cover , light has locating pins and M7 , the boss to the front of the starter ring is about 8-10mm ( without going out to measure one)and square on light, on heavy a pronounced sloping shoulder

whats up now is it still not right?

I'm hoping that's an "auto correct" sentence.

Still makes no sense, that's a clutch, not a badger.

;)
