the mechanic who replaced the bended back suspension arm is very experienced as he only works on A types ( for more than 20 years already) and he actualy did adjust the alignment
with the stringline system. i only went to the garage with the more sofisticated equipment because the car still pulled to the right and they can check the camber as well. they also claimed that they would be able to diagnose a possible bended chassis but the only thing they could find wrong was situated at the right back wheel. since nobody seems to think that this can cause the car pulling to the right i think i will have the camber of the front wheels double checked ( after a measurement between the axle bolt centres as you suggested) before i start replacing suspension arms front OR back.
i am also quite interested in the suspension arm bender you mentioned, how do they look like, how do they work? could you give some more explanation and do you have a picture of them maybe?

When you say it pulls to the right, I assume you mean, your going in a straight line and you let the wheel go and it veers off to the right
