Post Carb to air filter pipe
Quick question...

Will this pipe for a metal box air filter...

http://www.ecas2cvparts.co.uk/pipe-from ... -p-67.html

fit onto a late twin choke carb?

I've decided to return J to standard air filer box (possibly will have enac spare wheel carrier for sale after french national) and have acquired a decent metal box filter from Ruskington today.

So before I splurge on the rubber... will it fit? If not I'll stick to the standard plastic box.

Cheers,

Aidan

Well that was succinct!

So will the pipe for a 26/35 solex

http://www.ecas2cvparts.co.uk/pipe-from ... -1349.html

fit onto a metal air filter box?

Be great if it did!

Cheers.

Just tried one and 'it fits where it hits', but nothing that a Jubilee clip won't fix.

Also, the heights of the outlets relative to the carburettor intake, as set by the mounting brackets, looks to be similar...

The only cars I can think of that had a metal air box with a twin choke carb are Dyane's and Ami's. I thought your 2CV had the correct single choke carb lol.

You might be able to mod a Dyane or Ami pipe to fit maybe but I know the Ami one points in a specific direction so might be not suitable.

Thanks Ken... I'll order one off Ecas along with a set of jubilees and see how it goes from there.

The engine in J is from an '88 car with a twin choke solex. Could I retrofit a single choke carb? What would be the benefit... apart from retro chic?

It would mean my Acadiane would leave you even further behind at the traffic light GP than it did yesterday!
