 Re: MY AMI 8 BREAK
Maybe it's not essential, but it does make life a heck of a lot easier, as I've found when refitting window glass in van rear doors or the rear screen in a 2CV hood. Probably worthwhile in terms of time saved, never mind the reduced chance of breaking the glass. That's how that type of seal was designed to be installed, after all... ken 2CViking wrote: You don't really need that tool on Citroen car. We fitted the strip first and the the screen.

 Re: MY AMI 8 BREAK
well good and bad today mostly bad! managed to make a 2 piece section of gutter and repaired the roof edge and welded the new bit of gutter on Then cut out the section above the drivers door, not realising theres 5 wires going through didnt even see them until id cut through them at both ends, worst still is that theres not enough sticking out to repair it and all 5 wires are green, not sure whos great idea that was Anyhow then went on to find the repair sections dont really seem to be the correct shape, I spent an hour messing about with them and gave up So Im contemplating selling it at the moment! Ive spoke to someone about the repair sections and I have to send a picture of them to check if its just me or they are wrong Has anything already cut these out before and used the club repair panels and if so did they fit straight on or not? cheers Matt-

 Re: MY AMI 8 BREAK
had to get the inner and outer made from the old rusty ones id cut out pretty good fit they are too, just had to shorten them and carefully butt weld them in had to go over the welds a few times ,gringing them down each time to join the outer, the inner went together much easier

 Re: MY AMI 8 BREAK
the gutter was the worst part though-had to cut a very thin strip and weld it to the middle of the the inside of the thin gutter strip as the roof edge was slightly too narrow-which was tricky Luckily my dad had a spot welder tucked away so managed to spot the flat part of the roof and the lower parts near the rubber seal together - looks almost original! not sure about the gutter but its hidden by the chromw strip and is rust free at least

 Re: MY AMI 8 BREAK
I've often looked at that part of my old ami6, it looks like a bugger of a part to make (across the top of the screen) so hats off to you for having a go, it doesn't look a bad job at all, well done.
