Post Re: WOAH!!!!!!!
It cost me nothing, and it will be a trial,so lets see what happens before I am shot down in flames(or the car catches fire) .
My driving is mainly commuting to and from work, about 10 miles per day,no long runs.

Post Re: WOAH!!!!!!!
I have recorded details from 1986 of my then new Special and its average over many 1000's of miles was 48mpg on unleaded and it was never driven other than enthusiastically....I sometimes wonder if modern fuel gives less bangs per buck - is it less calorific than early unleaded? It may have been higher octane during the switch from leaded to unleaded to stop pinking in the cars of that era whereas all modern cars run on much leaner mixtures. Current mpgs on the Beige Beast and Dudley, before we sold him, are high 30's - both have 123 and are, by Richard Daltons own words, well adjusted for mixture/emissions.
Interestingly, the choice of fuel can often be more beneficial to mpg - I do 40K per year in my 250cdi Merc - its average is 45mpg but if I fuel with standard Shell Diesel, or especially Total, I can get into the 50's...supermarket fuel always returns lower mpg.

Just filled up the 2CV and the last tankful returned 43.2mpg which included some heavy footing down the M5 and some easy driving back through the Cotswolds. :-) The C4 is getting 60+mpg. I pulled up at a pump at my local Tesco to refuel with regular 95 RON only to realise that the pump was only dispensing Ultra 99 RON, so I've refuelled with 99 and will see what a tankful of that will return.

Firstly, I never cease to be amazed that people think that the hydrogen nonsense is anything other than snake oil. Assuming that the hydrogen was being burnt completely, and that the system was 100% efficient, then at best you'd see no difference. As no system is 100% efficient, I can only hope the placebo effect makes up for the deficit.

Secondly, if fuel efficiency is in the low 30s mpg, then I would cautiously suggest that perhaps something else needs your attention. My car did used to give over 50 mpg on a motorway run if I kept below 70mph, these days I'm disappointed with only getting low 40s from the 1150cc engine.

Hi joolz, what sort of mpg would you expect around town?I dont realyy do any long runs as such.
I must say,I wasnt really too bothered about the mpg,but I can feel a concern coming on

Right, pics of the unit I have. The header bottle is fitted somewhere above the dry cell,to allow the fluid to gravity feed into the cell.A thin nylon pipe is then fed from the header tank into the rubber air intake on the carb.A live feed is then connected to the dry cell along with an earth, and in a nut shell, thats it.The curent draw has to be monitered to make sure its drawing the correct amount of amperage for the unit to operate correctly,10-12 amps is best.
So,what do we think :?:
