123/evo ignition installed on Visa engine: problem
Hello there.
I have recently installed the 123/evo ignition on my Visa 652cc, but there seems to be a little problem. The ignition contacts the base of the fan so firmly that not even the starter will start. I have added some washers between the fan base and the spindle, but now it does not function as the spindle will not turn the fan, but simply rotate on its own. Any ideas?
Thanks

Remove some of the fan, where it contacts the ignition.

Re: 123/evo ignition installed on Visa engine: problem
can you do photos of the instalation and of the engine cases where the 123 sits as well as the fan where it touches.
Not familiar with how the 123 sits in the un-machined cases, perhaps there is something on your cases that is pushing the 123 too far forward
123s own website isnt too helpfull on fitting to visa cases as the search facility doesn't link directly to the posts
( For those that haven't seen such exotica the 652 cases have a rough casting that could be machined to take a 602 type ignition, but all that is there is a blanking plate covering the nose of a slightly different camshaft the casting is rough and i mean rrrrough)

Which fan pulley are you using? You should be using a 2CV pulley- smaller diameter than a Visa one (106mm vs. 118mm).
Out of curiosity, are you using the dutch or belgian adaptor?

I am using the adaptor that burton car company is selling, but i wouldn't know about the country origin. Also, I can't see why the 2cv pulley would change anything...

Hi, I just fitted the same thing on a Visa engine and you need to buy a different 2cv pulley and fan. The original one has a offset of 18mm but the older ones have an offset of 21mm. I bought a second hand one from AMI2CV. Just e mail them what you want and they will help.
