Cheers guys, the "cut" is in line with the gap below the lower chevron, I've looked at photos of originals in situ and that seems to be how Citroen did it.

Very smart, and I bet the cabin is a bit warmer as well... :)

Thanks Ken, haven't had an opportunity to give it a decent try out yet.

I dropped the car round to Peter Cross at Tibberton yesterday morning and picked it up this afternoon. The exhaust was blowing rather badly and my quick bodge from about 4-months ago failed last Saturday on the Raid Sportmans, so got Peter to do a proper job. The clamps were too big and not gripping the pipes in the right place so they were not pulling the pipes together and sealing them. Got the right clamps fitted now and the car is smooth 'n' quiet. :)

I'm taking the Old Dear to Malvern tomorrow, so I don't know when I'll have the opportunity to give the 2CV a nice little run out.

Post Re: My 2cv
So this morning I got the 2CV out and headed in a roundabout fashion to Alcester. Car ran really sweet, though I only maxed at 55mph and was mostly pootling along at 45-50mph. Was luuuurvly and warm in the cabin, in fact it got a bit too warm as I was still wearing my coat  I popped into Alcester and left the car parked for about 15-20mins and when I went to fire up the engine it took a fair bit of cranking, so I'm guessing it's a bit warm under the bonnet and the fuel is evaporating. So what should I do? Should I just leave it, as the car seems to run nicely? Should I cut more ventilation into the muff? Or should I remove the muff completely? Give me your thoughts, I2F'ers. :)

More ventilation into the muff, imho.

Jonathan,
best not to confuse regulation of cooling air to the engine with how the operating temperature of the coil is affected by less air flow through the engine bay.

I'd tend to think that you have been given advance warning of a below-par ignition coil, as it's going to be much warmer under the bonnet when Summer comes around... ;)

Ah, that's interesting, thanks Ken & Smiffy. I'll look for my spare coil and do some experimenting :)

Spent the afternoon out in the 2CV yesterday. Headed off down the A44 and up the infamous Fish Hill in the Cotswolds and on to Chipping Norton. I visited the Rollright Stones then headed northeast to Banbury, back west towards Stratford, then southwestwards to Evesham and headed home. Very cloudy and damp day, but it's a far nicer day today, so I'm off out on another little drive.

Post Re: My 2cv
Been out round a county I very rarely explore this afternoon, Warwickshire. Ended up going to the Civil War Battle site of Edge Hill and whilst I was parked up an Austin-Healey came past behind a LR Discovery which had a cameraman in the boot with the glass part open to film the Healey. At the wheel was the actor Paul McGann :o They came back and forth a few times, parked behind me for a while then shot off. Ten minutes later I headed off in the direction of Gaydon (where the Motor Heritage Museum is) and got stuck behind the Healey for about 2 or 3 miles. May see my 2CV on some TV drama around Autumn............ Though more likely not

As a footnote to above, the driver of the Disco was a right crazy idiot, he kept moving over to the wrong side of the road to get different shots but the road was very twisty with some proper sharp bends and blind spots galore!!
