 Wheel Jack Upgrade Any jack's out there with a broken foot. Simple repair can be done.... Select an old bolt and cut off the surplus. Weld to base of jack Refit foot, enlarge the hole to allow articulation Can do the repair on an exchange basis, drop me a pm/email Useful addition for the old and infirm a cordless drill with 19 mm socket+extension.

Re: Wheel Jack Upgrade I've had a couple fail where the little plate that sits in the sill fails and broken off, then the car collapses. The spot welds aren't penetrated at all. Worth a bit of weld on there too.

Re: Wheel Jack Upgrade The original jacks scare me...some of the most rusty bits of a 2CV seem to be the original Jacking points. I personally carry a bottle jack and a few selected bits of wood (one that goes underneath it in case of mushy ground and one one top to give the height) that will just raise the car for a wheel change on the roadside. I would only ever jack the 2CV on a chassis section even in roadside emergancy.....no matter how good or new the sills are.
At home I only ever use a decent trolley jack on the decent bits of chassis. In fact I have a lump of wood that spans the chassis and use that plus stands.

Re: Wheel Jack Upgrade I can't get trolley jacks under my cars. Factory jack and battery drill/posh nut runner are all I can use, unless the forklift is handy.

Re: Wheel Jack Upgrade I've never used the original jack, I have one in mint condition, but I'd only ever use it for hitting my brother or something, I wouldn't feel confident jacking the weight of the car on the sills!
