Seems there's a fair few twatheads out at the min as my car was broken into last night. Not much damage and they made a ridiculously stupid job of trying to take the stereo. Still a pisser though as my wallet was hidden underneath it  On the bright side though at least I still have a car.... Hope this is found. Will keep an eye open round here.

My friend's ElCid was broken into three times over christmas and tried to remove the ignition switch and lock. Luckily they couldn't. I am about to order one of these....

And also add Jerry's (above elcid) mod to wire horn into ignition!

I have been thinking of fittiing a battery switch on my cars also.I came accross a remote control version that I though to be a good idea. You just press a botton on a key fob and it turns the battery on or off.Its also got a manual overide. What do you lot think? Iirc they were about £60.00,alot more than the previous one,but it saves having to faf about with the bonnet all the time.

(shushhhhh dont tell anyone....but the best anti-theft device on a 2CV...is to turn the lock on the handbrake...oh....and remove the gearbox....that one really confuses them....)

From experience, don't waste your money on that one, it'll corrode and cause connection issues.

not one to piss on your fire, but a lot of cars are stolen on low loaders, i must say though its normally high end cars but im sure that they would rather stick it on a low loader and rip the plates of, than be picked up by multiple ANPR cameras,,,,

although saying that, its sad the police dont have the resources to trace through cctv etc, as im sure they would find it that way!!

But surely the scrap value of a 2CV is low in comparrison ? The parts....in reality....not worth that much either....if you were ever inclined to steal anythng for parts and weight ....then why a 2CV...?
