Post Re: The O/T thread!
As part of my late age onset OCD - or middle age crisis as otherwise known - I had only my '76 Jazz from new in 1978, and didnt play it much after my band split in 81, until 2007 when I started playing live again and bought the orange Jazz and then couldnt stop buying nice guitars - to be fair - none of them cost more than £500 so, thanks to fleabay, owe me nothing!
Unfortunately, the same cannot be said about the same OCD and A series that over the same period has gobbled up more cash than I really want to think about.....

I'm going to use the phrase 'pocket trumpet' in the future. Not in a musical context, but whilst propositioning ladies.

On the subject of the now mandatory login, what is gained from making people scratch their heads to remember their login details?

The vast majority of the time I use this place I go to google and ask it to search within the international2cvfriends domain for whatever I am looking for. Having to try and log in is a pain, and were I not a member already I doubt I would have registered on the off chance that the hidden content would be useful.

I'd have thought that virtually anyone with an A-series searching for a forum or just general information would register. What's the effort?

And thanks to 'Bookmarks' and the automatic remembering of passwords, getting on to this site is a 2-click affair.

That's how we see it, once registered you can click the 'sign me in on every visit' thing and you don't need type your login details again. We reckon that people are more likely to contribute if signed in and hopefully it'll make folk more inclined to post. Also, it means we can better prevent spammers.

Post Re: The O/T thread!
This was the first 2cv specific forum I found in my early days.

The only prob I had with joining was my gmail and/or aol email accounts which didn't seem to work and because of this my pleas to be allowed entry presumably fell on deaf ears (or the spam filter).

Anyway resolved after a few days though with a new yahoo.co.uk email a/c and since then all has been fine. :D

Well its working here, because I've got to admit that probably more than 50% of the time I'be been on here, I'm not actually logged in.
