 Re: My 2cv
Fired up the 2CV this morning (been sat in garage for two or three weeks) and shot off down the M5 from j6 to j9 then headed east along the A46 then north up the B4079 & B4080 to Pershore and back home via the B4084, and the hood was fully open for the entire journey Next trip will probably be the Herefordshire 'Wye Knots' New Year's Day Run to Lord Hereford's Knob above Hay-on-Wye.

 Re: My 2cv
Hope the weather is a little kinder this weekend. It's the Wye Knots 2CV Club's run to Lord Hereford's Knob, above Hay-on-Wye, so I'm looking to get the 2CV out of the garage tomorrow and use it to get to work so I know it'll start on Sunday morning. Should be fine as I did use it about 10 days ago and it started freely.

 Re: My 2cv
Had a little trip out in the 2CV yesterday evening Pootled down the M5 & M50 to Monmouth and down the Wye Valley past Tintern Abbey to Chepstow, over the old Severn Bridge back into Lloegr and ended up at Bristol for the ARTists pub meeting. At the end of the evening I drove back home via M32,M4 and M5. Round trip of 146miles and the hood was fully open for the entire journey. Bliss.

 Re: My 2cv
Okay, since having this particular 2CV (April '02) I've had an early '60s grill fitted and no winter grill muff, well from today the car has one fitted I had some spare hood material that pretty much always comes with a new hood (it's an off cut from the fitting of the rear window, for those that don't know), so I removed the grill and went indoors into the warmth. Firstly, I cleaned the aluminium grill with 'Autosol' (highly recommended product), then placed the hood material with the outer side down and put the grill on the inner part of the hood, outer side down. From there I drew an outline with a pen around the grill so giving me a pattern to cut to. Once cut to shape I drew outlines of the grill bars so as to mark where they are to line up tent eyelets with the gaps in the grill. I then drew an outline below the lower chevron to give me the pattern to cut out the air intake for 'winter driving' and folding the muff in half, I cut to shape. I then fitted the eyelets by pushing down on them to make an impression in the hood material and marking with a pen before using a pair of scissors to cut the holes then fit the eyelets. Once all the eyelets (8 in total) were fitted and secure I then refitted the grill to the car and using cable ties I fitted the muff to the grill. Simples. Below is a photo of muff fitted (I'd just returned from a 5-10 mile drive).

 Re: My 2cv
Looks great! Is there a recommended size for the air intake?
