2cv is easyer and cheaper to do a work like this. Dyane is much more complicated more expensive.

Well, Any idea how much is worth in EUR ? In GB, in France, Germany, Italy, ... up there in north...

I was dissapointed looking a "restored" cars in WM France this year . Cars all over the EU on my opinion badly restored but with high price.

So, make me some prices in EUR if you have any idea for work like this...

More than the car is worth. Price of the work pictured (inc dismantling and reassembly) must be at least £2500 (100 hours@ £25 ph) and this would not include the cost of new parts. Budget at least another £1500 to prep and paint it.

If you were going to do that then it would be sensible to go through the mechanicals and repair/ restore as necessary - say £1750. You'd want a new galvanised chassis and powdercoating for the running gear - £1500. Then it would be a shame to have a shabby interior to let down your nice new car - budget £1250 for a new roof and a retrim.

Add in 10% for incidentals and you're up to £9000 or so. Suddenly the prices for ready restored cars don't seem too wild.

Labour and material costs are the same for a 2CV as they are for any other car. There is no reason why restoring a 2CV should be cheap.

How much time does a car take to restore to that standard? I'd say your work is better than most restored car as you've seen, there's a market for that out there. I'm guessing there's around two weeks work in each shell? Got to be worth £3500+ I'd have thought.

Like you said it... 2 weeks for body and week for other parts that are attached on it. Than other mechanical and trim restoration... all around work, ready to go to MOT ... 3 months.

Another problem is that not all parts are available on the market... Like Dyane sills (complet like original), dyane A - C posts, AZU or AK parts (see this ... http://2cvkeza.weebly.com/2cv-au---azu---ak.html)

... and many other parts that I usualy make it before I start with restoration on some particular car.

You cant make good body of Dyane if you dont have new sills or posts . And big problem (ad work) is inner wings for dyane. Until 2CVGB is not starting to sell their wings we have to repair it. And it takes time... 6 hours for one side and some home made tools...

To achive look like this and to know that under the paint car is almoast new...

Photos ... work of this last aks400 are 10 years old. And in that time we didnt have acess to new body parts . So I made it complet...also back outher wings and other parts. Looks strange but... Now we can buy new wings .

Restored engine and chassis...

We have hard regulations about chassis and if we buy new chassis without all EU papers we cant mount it on our 2cv (and chassis sold in Cassis or Der francoze or from UK are without legal papers for Slovenia). Not like in UK... so if we mount new chassis we are on other side of the law. So, we repair good old chassis ... that last another 10 - 12 years .
