Yup totally crap! Binned 2 pairs, the knurled bolt was cross threaded. Stainless disc method looks interesting, pretty simple in theory, and obviously works.

Russell wrote: Really? As simple as that? You're not using a great big bit of copper as a heatsink? I welded over a sunroof aperture last week, and it's the most awful wobbly twisted thing I've ever seen. I think probably my inherent lack of patience doesn't help. I likes structural welding personally. You can turn your brain off and just bust into it. I was doing 12-15mm thick ally today. I can cope with stuff like that... Aye, that's all there is to it! Sunroofs can be awkward, did a Capri sunroof last week, not overly enjoyable.. Patience is definitely needed, structural stuff is a very different ball game, good fun though..

I'm not really allowed to comment on people's rear lights...

Well done for doing something different! If it was me I would have put an old style sloped panel in with some round lights. But then, thats what most people would do. Not my cup of tea, but nicely done!

Not overly fanatical then?? The only problem fitting old style lights, is that there is no indicator. These were the smallest light I could find that combined all 3 reflector, brake and tail lights, and an amber indicator. I personally think they look a little large, but when the wings are on I reckon they'll look a lot better.

It makes sense mate, I agree, with the wings on i think they will look better. If you don't try something new then you never know!
