Whilst I've never had any dealings with their phones I have always got on with apple computers. The stability of unix, will run unix programs if suitably compiled, but suitably designed to remove most of the temptation to spend weeks breaking, fixing, then trying to find a way to break it again. Horribly horribly priced though, even if they go on for ever.

As part of some strange educational experiment though the medical school are giving me (and 600 other people) an ipad in a few weeks, so I guess I shall find out if they serve any useful purpose.

you assume wrong! binned microsoft as life was too short for that buggy crashy takes an age to load and was then "improved" by taking even longer to switch off, would randomy re set everything and costs a bloody fortune ( but not as much as the shiny restrictive mac OSX) and lets every chinaman, geek and his cat run roughshod over your registry and the information in your files.

Linux - like OsXs cousin but does what you want ;)

terpineol-ebay! there's a use for it
