No one seems to want to buy this, keeps reappearing on the classic car websites and ebay. Odd. Now listed with no reserve. Do want.

If it's the car I think it is (and there can't be that many Ami 6s with clutch issues in Stratford!), I met the owner after the 2CVGB AGM, and ran into him again (not literally) in a car park in Stratford yesterday. He bought the car after it was advertised last, but as far as I can gather didn't fall in love with the whole Ami way of life, compared to a 2CV...!

At £1350 requiring complete restoration and EXCLUDING getting back from France, I can't see many people chomping at the bit.

I dunno, depends how buggered it is. Looking like that it's going to attract a fair bit of interest, and it seems he doesn't have a shortage of folk with a lot of cash willing to buy turkeys.

Even if I ended up paying the same overall, I think when the day comes that I attempt to get a 50s A-series, I'd rather go and get one myself from abroad, the mission to bring it back would part of it. It seems too easy for me to drive 30 miles and pick this up, and I agree, its overpriced, but someone will pay it, and probably paint over that patina too

edit: although on second thoughts, you would be hard pressed to call that "patina" - more like "rust" or "buggered", but still rather that than a shiny bauble.

Yeah, but it's in France, so whoever's just bought it (yes, it's gone!) now gets to go on a mission to pick it up. Hope for their sake that it's not right down by the Spanish border!! Wonder if it's got an engine in it?
