Unfortunately if there is a 2CV City advert on the outside of it mine will still go in the bin without taking it out of its plastic bag. As it has done for months now.

Tell you what 250. Do as you please with your hard copy and instead I'll email you a PDF minus adverts. If you like it, you then have to promise to read the hard copy infuture and just choose not to readthe bits you don't like. Savvy?

Thats a shame they have been on the outside for a fair while now
anyway kind of cutting your nose off with that attitude but each to their own ....whats more usefull is challenging opinions without resorting to slander and name calling and pointing out good or bad practice of certain areas of the 2cv world, especially to people less experienced than you . Many people new to the 2cv scene are taken in by shiny trinkets and glossy front pages and given the recent hype about prices, are willing to jump in with two feet paying over the odds for a restauration which isn't much more than a tarted up runner, loaded up with the vendors "specials" then given poor advice during the "warranty" period.

"you can't polish a turd ....but you can roll it in glitter"
:?

Sean, over on the other forum I've just picked up said trader on his spelling of restoration and here you are copying him

I think you've seen too many restAUrants and that way of spelling has become hard wired. :D

Not to sound like a tit, but restauration isn't exactly wrong. It's just the original french version coming from the verb restaurer, which is infact where we get the word restaurant... translating to restoring/renewing/replenishing, which is if you think about it what a restaurant is meant to do innit.

I think the mag needs a 'JKs etymological enlightrnment' column. Seriously man I've learnt so much from you! What about parts of a car. Isn't chassis a French word? And the why is a choke called a choke in the uk and strangulateur in France? Reniflaud?

Do it!

Stangulateur is not a word often used, the French refer to the choke as the "starter" whilst a starter [motor] is referred to as a demarreur.

That's daft if I may say so? You don't have to look at/read/take any notice of the advert-perhaps just rip the back page off?

I've kind of forgotten they advertise on it at all, I notice Uncle Roys advert as it's in the middle of the stuff I might actually read. But, unless it's left "upside down" on the table, I don't notice their advert.

Edit: Like it or not, that advert also provides useful revenue for the club which is essential after all........
