 Shock absorber mount
Has anyone seen this happen before put new shocks on about 3 weeks ago then today heard a bit of a creaking noise had a look underneath and found this any ideas how and why its happened? IMAG0441 by Chris 2cv, on Flickr

Yes often seen on raid cars. Welding should fix that problem

I've got a spare one so will chuck another on just trying to work out how I managed to break it!!!

shocker plates on the wrong way round?

Chris, if I'm not very much mistaken, your damper mounting plates have been swapped over, which would explain why things fell apart... ken Front damper plates swapped side to side... by slcchassis, on Flickr

Aha Thanks Sean and Ken I shall have a good look at my other 2cv tomorrow and check which way they are fitted on that. They must have been the wrong way around on this for ages as I've only ever taken them off one side at a time!!!!
