Are you going to drive this rather than the ami during the winter?

Re: 1987 (was) Road legal racer but soon to be winter hack!
Had a bit of a tinker with this yesterday-just like Panelbeaterpeter, I was doing the free bits! In fact, I also narrowed my headlamp bar yesterday but I threw caution to the wind and took 55mm out of either side-I now have to be a little cautious when opening and closing the bonnet! Although I was happy enough with the headlamp bar, I reckon it looked a bit crap with the old plastic grill. So, a rummage in the garage turned up a broken (genuine) 3 bar (okay, 2 bar now) grill. Apply some tin snips to a sheet of aluminium and make a pretty poor replacement "bar" for the grill Fit to car and...... Realise it needs the bonnet chevrons (got them) and tubular bumpers. In keeping with my general recycling theme, I'm intending to make the bumpers from the door bars from the rollcage although they're bloody heavy bits of tube.... Maybe have to rethink that, we'll see. Until next time

Been giving this lots of thought today and have come to the conclusion that perhaps I should really concentrate on the bits that keep it off the road like exhaust and MOT..... Maybe Sunday I'll do some of those useful bits? Alternatively, I'll carry on fannying about with bits and pieces to please my minds eye!

Ah, erm, well....... Sshhhhhhhh It's a reshell job Seriously though, you would not believe the state of that cars shell. Steve has still got bits of it down his workshop-I don't recall having seen anything else quite that rotten in years!
