Tried a few gear boxes, only the empty boxes. Result was not what I hoped for. Oil mixed with mud didn't come off but clean oil did. Still had to clean with petrol first so the event was a waste of time. Back to cleaning with petrol and high pressure water spraying the entire box with motor cleaner first.
