Post how long?
Hello all,
Does anyone know offhand whether a 2CV is long enough (from passenger footwell to boot) to transport a few 2.4m lengths of timber?

Thanks,
Richard

That's why your roof opens ... ;)

Richard,

2.4 meters is not possible as such ! What people say above is correct, out the top of the roof or maybe out of the boot.

Ive been there at the merchants and had to stick it throught the roof.

...or if you find it better (cheaper) to buy it in that length, but dont need it, you can take a saw and cut it in the car park whilst all the "builder types" in their vans stand around and watch you....taking the D*lly out of you.

Just be "cool"....buy what you want and chuck it in from the roof !... :D

My Old Goat says he has regularly got 2.5m loads of timber in his 2CV. Back seat and passenger seat out, or if thin bits, they should bend down and under the seats.

Simples!

Thanks for all the helpful suggestions.

I was planning on taking out the seats and bungy cording the bootlid if needed. Through the roof isn't too easy as I now have a full length matt's sun shade (which was a pain to fit).

The timber certainly won't go in my fiat, and the C5 is 200miles away. So 2CV it is, unless I wait a couple of weeks for the xantia estate as a courtesy car while the 2CV is MOTd.

serves you right!

2cv was a lightweight utilitarian vehicle designed to take stuff like that
fill the car up with efite nonsence like sunvisors and it stops being a roughty toughty car

shame on you ;)

It's for purely practical reasons :)

I go a nice cooked lobster colour in the sun - and I like driving with the roof back. Got the shade specifically to go to France next month 8-)
